Third Minute Personality (Transitioning)

The second song I ever wrote on a guitar, and that explains the very low key it sits at in my voice. It’s about what it says on the tin. In a way, it connects to Starcrossed, as one more face of the same sort of thing. To me, it also connects to She Ain’t Been Well, as a macabre type of prequel.

We lock ourselves in rooms to remain undiscovered. How much do you want to be discovered?

Third minute personality

Why do you always come back smelling lime dust?

Not bound to any other one

Tied to the ages of doing what you must

Not minding any other way

There seems to be no reason to despair

After all, there is no chance to say

It’s not like they’re gonna know

What’s going on in there

And maybe you are all alone

Yes, you may be just left here on your own

Like a shadow on the light of a lampshade

Your memories, your memories will start to fade

Maybe your dreams are true and they’re real tomorrow

Maybe there’s time to speed up time and run

Maybe we spend the rest of our lives together

Maybe we learn that there’s no other way to learn

I know that we’re being taught

I just hope that soon you’ll reappear

Like the Devil on the edge of a crossed path

I know, I know I’ll never be lonely here

Such sweet sorrow
