Scatterbrain

The first verse to this was written when I was stranded in a study hall after a lecture because of the rain. I do like rainy days, they’re many times a relief to someone who’s lived their entire life in the dry central Brazilian climate. I guess I wrote about how I was feeling.

Scatterbrain, loves the rain

Wish I could feel it with you

But I’d catch a cold

Fishnets, smoke stacks

Hidden things I need to

Do before I’m old

Say that you want me, say that it’s true

Say that I’ll go on an adventure with you

Say that you need me, say it’s the case

My soul it yearns for your loving embrace

Sip your morning tea, honey

Everything’s gonna be okay

Sneak out to do and in to bring

The kind of thing I won’t reveal

I’ll never be a man

Still feel like hiding from those prying eyes

I always hid from

‘Cause they don’t understand

Say that you want me, say that it’s true

Say that I’ll go on an adventure with you

Say that you need me, say it’s the case

My soul it yearns for your loving embrace

Sip your morning tea, doll

Everything’s gonna be okay

Sing this swinging rhythm

When they call you to die

They wish to see you dead

I’d rather see you alive

Be loud and proud, don’t keep it down

Make it your face

Make yourself a target for my loving embrace, yeah!

Say that you want me, say that it’s true

Say that I’ll go on an adventure with you

Say that you want me, say it’s the case

My soul it yearns for your loving

Say that I miss you, say that it’s true

Say I still want that adventure with you

Say everything, love, say nothing at all

Will you be there, honey, watching me fall?

Say that you need me

Say that you need me

Say that you need me

I really want to hear it from you

Sip your morning tea, honey

‘Cause everything’s gonna be alright

Don’t you know?
