Rock And Roll Princess
I dated somebody once who fancied herself a psychic. She foresaw a song I'd write in the far future called Rock And Roll Princess, about my guitar. To her dismay, she forgot to foresee that I'd no longer be with her in the then relatively near future, and that the song isn't about a guitar at all.
And so, dear princess
I wonder how you're doing
Dear old princess
Left behind in ruins
I think what you've left for me
Is really pitiful
You gave me nothing I
Hadn't seen before
Running
Climbing
Try to take over my heart
And you're a princess
There's a million else of them
You're still a princess
But someone else's problem
You only spoke in ways
Of ugly metaphors
Your lies are a moat around you
And a bridge in draw
Running
Leaping
Try to take over my heart
You overstayed your welcome baby
Go back where you belong
My pretty face might look generic
But you'll never find a soul like mine
I love myself ‘cause you
Couldn't do it right
I love myself ‘cause you
Couldn't do it right
Your nobility is faded
Your crown is a rusted knife
Believing you is difficult
Despite your power and your might
I love myself ‘cause you
Couldn't do it right
I love myself ‘cause you
Couldn't do it right
So, dear princess
I wonder how you'll do it
A rock and roll princess
Overdriven to ruin
I'll take your place
I'll take your place
Not so pretty now
You don't deserve your crown
